Yuan Liu, the founder and head coach of New York
Table Tennis Club (NYTTC).
Coach Hui yuan Liu is a National Coach of 2006 elected by
USATT in table tennis. He holds a master degree in Table
Tennis Coaching and Theory from Beijing Institute of Physical
Education, and was a former professional player and coach
in Chinese national and provincial teams. He has written
and published several thesis and article on table tennis
coaching techniques and playing.
Coach Liu runs the NYTTC since 1994 and
is the founder and head coach of the Club. NYTTC opened
seven days a week from 1:00pm to 11:30pm. At this Club,
he encourages all to participate, enjoy the game, and maximize
their potential.
He currently trains many students of different
ages and levels. His top students include Stephanie Shih,
a member of the USA Junior Girlˇ¦s Team. He also trains Kazuyuki
Yokoyama (2561 rated No. 8 in U.S.) and Shao Yu (rated 2529,
No. 12 in U.S.). The USATT magazine Player of the Month
Pan Lin (rated 2375, a major player now at Princeton University
team) is also Coach Liuˇ¦s student when he first started
as a kid. Coach Liuˇ¦s junior training program has about
20 members rated from 1800 to 2150. Many of these young
players played and winners at the American Junior Olympics
Games.
